Simply Skyler: Back Down The Rabbit Hole (Part 6)

***The Following is a Fictional account of a man named Skyler Clark who struggles with Schizophrenia. This is not about me. There might be some triggering subject matter. If you are easily triggered, do not read this. ***

It has been a few days since I've been a Christian and since I have stopped taking my Risperidone. I actually feel pretty fine. It seems Dr. Goodman was flat wrong when he told me I'd struggle with Schizoaffective Disorder all of my life. He did not take into account that Jesus Christ works miracles. God is so good. I do not think that I will be going to my next visit with Dr. Goodman. Why should I? I am officially healed of my mental illness, so I do not need to see him anymore. My wife does not know that I stopped taking my medication. If I told her, she would just berate me and tell me that I need to take it. I cannot stand her because she thinks I need to take that poison. I think she is trying to kill me so that she can get that life insurance money. I know money has been tight around here, but she is not going to kill me though. She can be working for the devil, but God is on my side and He will protect me. I am actually thinking about applying for some jobs now that I've been healed. After losing my last job before I had to see Dr. Goodman, I was feeling like all hope was lost. However, the Lord has really given me a new zest for life. However, I do not want to work with just any lowlife. So, I am not going to work at Burger King or anything like that. A man of my stature does not need to work with peasants. Since I am a Nobel Peace Prize holder because of my work in engineering, I am going to apply for some jobs in Engineering.  As I am walking down the street, I hear Bill Gates' voice. He sounds as clear as day right now, which makes me glad because I am relieved to hear him.

"Skyler, you need to build that Enterprise." He demands. I know that I do because I told him that I would. However, I have more important things to worry about right now so that has got to wait. I need to get a job so that I can help contribute to the household bills. It's not really fair that Sarah is taking care of everything. So, I decided to ignore Mr. Gates for now. I will get back to him later. I don my MP3 Player and listen to some Casting Crowns. These days all I listen to is Christian music. But, Bill Gates' voice interrupts my music. This pisses me off.

"If you do not get on with building that Enterprise, I will murder you and your wife." He calmly says. This scares me so I decide to turn back around and head home. I guess that I'll be getting on that right away because Mr. Gates has the resources to murder us and get away with it too. As I approach our home, the flying cat comes up to me, but this time he is not flying. He looks wounded. I feel deep sympathy for him.

"What's wrong, buddy?" I gently ask as I am petting him. He softly purrs. I can tell he likes to be petted.

"I was chasing another one of those grotesque-looking squirrels and he turned around and grew the size of a Pitt bull. He then mauled me and I barely escaped with my life." He says and I can visibly see the fear in his eyes. My sympathy grows even more, so I tell him that I'll take him home, and give him a bowl of milk. He likes that idea, so I pick him up and begin walking home again. While I am carrying him, I am singing to Voice of Truth. I really love that song.

We get to my place and I set the flying cat down and go to the refrigerator to pull out the gallon of milk. Then, I grab a cereal bowl and pour a little bit of milk into it. I can tell he was famished because as soon as I set the bowl in front of him, he began lapping up the milk quickly. All of a sudden, the man with the bat comes into the kitchen. He looks at me with a sorrowful look on his face.

"I am sorry, Skyler" He solemnly says. I am confused by this so I ask him what is wrong. He tells me that Mr. Gates has hired him to kill me and my wife! What the heck? He did not even give me enough time! I tell the man with the bat to give me more time.

"You've had weeks to get on this..." He says as he takes a swing at me with the bat, but I duck just in time. I cannot believe that he seriously trying to cause me harm. "Hold still and take this like a man. The sooner you cooperate, the sooner this will all be over. You're a Christian now, right? Jesus says for you to turn the other cheek!" He says, as he walks closer to me again and swings his bat. I outmaneuver him yet again. This time I reach for my cell phone and dial 9-1-1. I then run toward the front door and get outside. As I am running down the street, I am yelling for someone to help me, and the man with the bat comes walking outside. The police dispatcher answers the phone.

"9-1-1, How may I help---" I immediately cut her off and tell her that a madman is chasing me with a bat and trying to murder me. She asks me for my location.

"1855 Swearinger Dr... Please send the police quickly!!" I look back and see the man with the bat walking slowly toward me. He looks menacing. She tells me that she sent some officers to my location now and for me to get someplace safe. I run behind an old barn in someone's backyard. He won't find me here, but I can see my house, so as soon as the police arrive I will run toward them. I see him walking around the neighborhood yelling my name. I am surprised the neighbors are not coming out to see what is going on. I knew that they never cared for me. They probably want me dead too. After this is all said and done, and this man is behind bars, I am going to the police department to report Bill Gates. He needs to be exposed for his heinousness.

About fifteen minutes later, I see a squad car pull up, so I make a run toward them. The man with the bat sees me and begins walking in my direction. I make it to the police, but I am out of breath. I take a moment to breathe, but I point in the direction of the man. The police officers look genuinely confused, as they look in the direction of the man. These officers are complete morons. Once I have caught my breath, I tell them that he is the man who is trying to kill me. The officers look at me with genuine concern, but they do not do anything about the man. I cannot believe this. I thought the officers are sworn to "protect and serve". I tell them to do their freaking job and protect me. All they do is tell me to calm down!!

"How can you two tell me to freaking calm down when a psycho is following me and wants to murder me?! Are you stupid?!" I groan loudly. As I see the man with the bat coming closer, I reach for their gun. If they will not do their job, then I guess I have to do it for them. However, as soon as they see me make a move for their gun, they restrain me! I cannot believe this crap. I have a psycho killer coming toward me and they restrain me?! The man with the bat finally gets to me and says, "Skyler, I am sorry it has to be this way. I wish that we could have been friends." He then lifts his bat into the air and I yell at the cops. They end up picking me off the ground before the man can hit me with his bat. The man lowers his bat. At least, they got me out of harm's way. I guess that I can be thankful for that. However, they ruin the moment by doing something completely unbelievable. They put me in the back of their squad car! Are they taking me to jail now? What the heck did I do? I did not know that it is illegal to run away from someone trying to kill you! What has become of this city? As the police are driving the squad car away, I see the man with the bat shaking his head at me. Then, he makes a motion with his right thumb and slides it across his neck like a knife. I know exactly what that means and I feel scared. I think the police are taking me to jail, but then I see Memorial Hospital come up. Oh, great, not this place again! They think that I am looney! Don't they know that Jesus Christ healed me? I tell them that, but they ignore me. Well, the jokes on them because when the hospital nurses see that God has healed me, these officers are going to look really foolish. These officers are complete morons. I guess you do not have to be intelligent to carry the badge anymore.
